At the 31st edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, from August 15 to 22, the films of two authors who live and work in Ticino will also be presented.
Thirty years after the Srebrenica massacre, director Dino Hodic, who fled to Switzerland as a child, embarks on an intimate journey to the roots of his identity, telling the story of Hasan, one of the few survivors of that tragedy. No One Will Hurt You, premiering worldwide in Sarajevo in the BH section, is produced by the Bregaglia-based Fiumi Film with RSI and also supported by the Ticino Film Commission.
Il ragazzo della Drina by Zijad Ibrahimovic tells a similar story—that of Irvin, who was forced to flee Bosnia as a child and his return thirty years later to the forests that sheltered him while he was seeking refuge. The film, which had its world premiere at the Solothurn Film Days last January and was recently featured in the Panorama Suisse section of the Locarno Film Festival, is produced by Ticino-based Rough Cat with RSI.
