From 4 to 6 August, the Locarno Film Festival will feature presentations, panels, networking and meetings with potential partners for projects selected by the co-development programme hosted by Locarno Pro
As part of Locarno Pro, the focal point for participating professionals attending the Locarno Film Festival, the Ticino Film Commission is awarding one of the prizes of Alliance 4 Development (A4D), the co-development programme for film projects from Switzerland, Austria, France, Germany and Italy that aims to verify their market potential and promote long-term creative and commercial links between the countries concerned.
This year 11 projects were chosen from the 74 submitted. From 4 to 6 August, project delegates will be guided by international experts in their presentations, participate in one-to-one meetings with potential partners and attend high-profile panels and networking events.
This three-day event will culminate in an awards ceremony, at which the projects will have the chance to win one of the prizes offered by the various partners: the Alphapanda Market Breakout Award, consisting of consultancy services to the value of € 3,000; a screenplay consultancy residency at DreamAgo, offered by the Valais Film Commission, worth CHF 5,000; the MIDPOINT Consulting Award for an in-depth online screenplay consultation with one of the experts from the MIDPOINT Institute. The Ticino Film Commission Residence Award, on the other hand, consists of a 2-day location scout (worth CHF 4,000) and a Letter of Intent (LOI) for financial support to the production company (worth up to CHF 12,000), if all or part of the film is to be shot in Ticino (Switzerland).
