Eight years after their big-screen debut with Frontaliers Disaster (2017), the high-comedy adventures of border guard Loris J. Bernasconi and cross-border worker Roberto Bussenghi return to cinemas. This time, they are tasked with thwarting a sabotage that threatens Switzerland and its chocolate. The new film Frontaliers Sabotage, directed by Alberto Meroni and produced by Inmagine SA in co-production with RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera, will arrive in cinemas on January 1, 2026.
In addition to Flavio Sala, Paolo Guglielmoni, and Barbara Barbarossa – co-author of the film together with Alberto Meroni – the cast is enriched with well-known faces and new presences, including Joas Balmelli, Michael Casanova, Nina Dimitri, Maria Victoria Haas, and Christa Rigozzi, with the addition of two renowned names from Italian comedy, Giovanni Cacioppo and Enzo Iacchetti.
The official première of Frontaliers Sabotage is scheduled for Monday, December 15, at the PalaCinema in Locarno. This will be followed by Christmas previews open to the public in Lugano (Friday, December 19, at Cinestar, 8:30 p.m.), Mendrisio (Saturday, December 20, Multisala Teatro, 8:30 p.m.), and Bellinzona (Sunday, December 21, Forum, 2:00 p.m.), which will also be attended by the main actors.
