Following two previews in Massagno and Mendrisio, Wider than the Sky will arrive in cinemas across Ticino at the end of the month. Directed by Italian-Swiss filmmaker Valerio Jalongo, the documentary engages with one of the major themes of recent years: artificial intelligence. By combining science, art and poetry, the film explores a decisive question: can a collective and conscious use of AI contribute to building a positive future?
Distributed by Cineworx, produced by the Ticino-based Aura Film Sagl with Ameuropa International, RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera, RAI Cinema, and SRG SSR, the film is also supported by the Ticino Film Commission.
Alongside its theatrical release, Wider than the Sky continues its journey through European festivals. After Vision du Réel in Nyon in April 2025, the Roma Film Fest and the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival last October, the film is scheduled to screen at the 61st Solothurn Film Days, taking place from 21 to 28 January 2026.
Wider than the Sky will be released in cinemas in Ticino on 29 January. The previews will take place on Friday, 16 January at the Lux Arthouse in Massagno at 8:15 pm and on Monday, 26 January at the Multisala Teatro in Mendrisio at 8:30 pm.
