Actors wanted for the Spring Academy

Professional actors are being sought to be proposed to the six directors selected by the Locarno Film Festival for the Spring Academy, a workshop that this year will focus on the theme “Chaos/Order: Filming the Tension” and will be led by Swiss directors Roman and Silvan Zürcher.

Applicants are required to have:

- knowledge of Italian and English,

- availability on March 3 for a casting in Locarno (in case of pre-selection),

- availability on March 4–5–6–7 for rehearsals and shooting in the Locarno area (in case of selection at the casting).

For reasons of rotation, the only actors excluded are the six who were selected for the 2025 edition of the Spring Academy. Actors who participated in editions before 2025 are welcome.

Travel tickets or fuel costs for attending the casting or returning home will not be reimbursed if not selected.

For those travelling from more than 15 km away, a shared room in a residence will be provided in case of selection for the casting.

For those selected, board and lodging will be paid by the Festival. Travel tickets or fuel costs for returning home after the shooting will not be reimbursed.

The total fee for this work is CHF 1,600.

To participate in the pre-selection, please send the following by no later than 22 February 2026:

- 2 updated photos

- a presentation video of a maximum of 1 minute, speaking both Italian and English

- a summary of your CV in no more than 5 lines

- name, surname, address, phone number, email

The Spring Academy is organised by the Locarno Film Festival and the Conservatorio Internazionale di Scienze Audiovisive (CISA), co-produced with RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera, in collaboration with the Ticino Film Commission and with the support of Nostrana Holiday Homes.
