The 18th Festa do Cinema Italiano, taking place from April 9th to 17th in Lisbon, will present a special Swiss program with a focus dedicated to Italian-speaking Switzerland.
From Bonschuur Ticino by Peter Luisi, introduced by actor Leonardo Nigro, to Lubo by Giorgio Diritti, from La scomparsa di Bruno Breguet by Olmo Cerri to Die wundersame verwandlung der arbeiterklasse in ausländer, presented by director Samir, and Interdit aux chiens et aux italiens by Alain Ughetto, at the heart of the event will be a selection of feature films that were shot in Italian-speaking Switzerland, directed by filmmakers from the region, or related to themes connected to the Italian presence in Switzerland.
The selection will be completed by five short films from Ticino, either in production or direction, which were presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
Also attending the event will be Lisa Barzaghi, who, on Thursday, April 10th, at the Swiss Embassy in Lisbon, will illustrate the co-production opportunities with our country and the activities of the Ticino Film Commission, of which she is the operational manager.
The event is promoted by Swiss Films, in collaboration with Festa do Cinema Italiano – Lisbon, the Embassy of Switzerland in Portugal, and the Ticino Film Commission.
