Lugano's art and cultural scene in the Venetian spotlight

Lugano Region, Ticino Turismo and Switzerland Tourism in Italy chose this year's Venice International Film Festival audience to present Lugano's cultural and artistic offerings to the Italian market. The occasion was given by the awarding of the Social Prize to the Film Festival Diritti Umani Lugano (Human Rights Film Festival Lugano ) at the XI edition of the Starlight International Cinema Award, during the ceremony, held on September 2 at the Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort, aimed at rewarding the excellence of Italian and foreign cinema, bearing witness to works that represent different cultures and different ways of telling stories and characters, with particular attention to personalities engaged in activities related to social issues.

During the gala dinner, other cultural organizations from Ticino had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the public: the Ticino Film Commission, which for the past 10 years has welcomed and supported national and international film and television productions that choose the south of Switzerland with its multifaceted territory, and Compagnia Finzi Pasca, an ambassador of Lugano and Ticino around the world for more than 40 years, which presented its latest show “Titizé - A Venetian Dream” at the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, which will follow at the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura (LAC), from October 22 to 27, 2024.
