There is also an award-winning work from Ticino at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, among the leading European festivals dedicated to short films, whose 28th edition ended on Sunday, November 10.
Anna Simonetti's graduation film "L'erbaccia," produced by Amka Films and supported by the Ticino Film Commission, was awarded the prize for the best Swiss school short film. The jury praised the film's narrative style, which deals with liberation from social norms. "With minimal words and a careful selection of sounds and images," the award statement reads, "Simonetti creates a tactile experience that immerses viewers in a world of subtle but powerful impressions. Anna Simonetti trained at HEAD - Haute école d'art et de design in Geneva.
The prize is 5,000 Swiss francs and is sponsored by SRG SSR.
