With a total of 339,051 tickets sold in cinemas up to the beginning of March, the Swiss comedy 'Bonjour Ticino' has become one of the 10 most successful Swiss films ever made, as announced by DCM Film Distribution.
Filmed also in our canton with the support of the Ticino Film Commission, the feature film directed by Peter Luisi was released in cinemas in Ticino and German-speaking Switzerland at the end of November last year and then screened in cinemas throughout French-speaking Switzerland from mid-January. In the space of just a few weeks, crowds flocked to see the comedy starring Beat Schlatter, Vincent Kucholl and Ticino actress Catherine Pagani, which is now the most successful Swiss film of 2023.
'Bonjour Ticino' now occupies the tenth position in the ranking of the 10 most-viewed Swiss films since 1976 compiled by the Federal Statistical Office: in first place, for almost half a century, remains 'Die Schweizermacher' (1978) by Rolf Lyssy, with an impressive 942,110 viewers.
