The 74th Berlinale awards Klaudia Reynicke's 'Reinas'. The International Jury of the Generation Kplus section awarded the Grand Prix for Best Film to the director's latest work. An award given, reads the official statement, "for a film in which acting, light, characters and story work in tandem and in great symmetry, a film of everyday family life that at the same time gives voice to a country, Peru, and its very distinct political history".

Born in Lima, Klaudia Reynicke has been living in our canton for a quite some time, where she has made films such as "The Nest" and "Love me tender", both selected at the Locarno Film Festival. In "Reinas", which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States last January and in Berlin as a European premiere, she tells the story of the relationship between two sisters and their father, a relationship that develops before the young girls leave their country to move with their mother to the USA.
