An excellent theatrical debut for 'Bonjour Ticino'
In its first weekend of programming, Peter Luisi's comedy exceeded 22,000 spectators
Released in cinemas on 30 November, 'Bonjour Ticino' recorded over 22,000 admissions in its first weekend of screening, more than 800 of them in our canton. For a Swiss film, this is the best debut since the end of the pandemic, surpassed only by Pierre Monnard's 'Platzspitzbaby' in 2020.
The Swiss-German comedy by director Peter Luisi was also filmed in our canton with the support of the Ticino Film Commission. Shooting in Ticino took place in the Locarno and Leventina regions in September 2022. In the cast, alongside well-known names from beyond the Alps such as Beat Schlatter and Vincent Kucholl, also Ticino-born Catherine Pagani in her first feature film.
