Marble quarries of Arzo

Arzo's marble quarries are located in the Monte San Giorgio region (UNESCO WHL).

In the past, most of the country's economy was concentrated on marble quarries and on agriculture, in fact, for many years this area has involved several families from the country and neighboring districts such as Besazio and Tremona.

In 2011 began a project that no longer included the use of marble as a resource to be exploited, but as a material and site to enhance the territory and its history.

The area of the Arzo quarries includes the ancient laboratory, the path to the ancient quarries, the naturalistic amphitheater, the Broccatello quarry and the Imperial Baths. They are unique and very fascinating spaces.

The redevelopment of the imposing natural amphitheater concluded in 2017, has among its objectives to host public and private events.
