Built between the late 700s and the early 800s. This is a typical Verzasca kitchen: still operational in the early 20th century and since then perfectly preserved. The furnishings and utensils reflect the semi-nomadic lifestyle of its people. With no tables or chairs, the family ate at various times of day, sitting on the benches around the fireplace and cooking frugal meals. The kitchen used to be called “ca” (casa = house) because everything happened in that particular space.
