Teatro Sociale Bellinzona

The Teatro Sociale Bellinzona, located in the heart of the city of Bellinzona, was built between 1846 and 1847 on a project by the Milanese architect Giacomo Moraglia by the engineer Rocco von Mentlen.

Completely restored in 1997, it is the only example of an Italian style theater in Switzerland and is classified as a historical monument of national importance.

The evocative beauty of the historic building, whose theater hall can seat up to 331 spectators, gives the interior spaces a refined and elegant atmosphere.

The Teatro Sociale Bellinzona, active again after the renovations, offers a diversified and high-level theatrical and musical season - which pays particular attention to contemporary theater - made up of over 50 titles, including own productions and co-productions.

It has a foyer, a theater hall with stalls, two tiers of boxes and a gallery, and is equipped with a modern and constantly updated stage system, as well as dressing rooms and the necessary service spaces.

Thanks to its fascinating architecture and cutting-edge technical infrastructure, the Teatro Sociale Bellinzona is the ideal setting for various types of events, in particular for hosting film sets, photo shoots and music videos.
