The Romanesque building is located in Negrentino, Acquarossa, Blenio Valley.
The first mention of the church dates back to 1224. The building, however, is undoubtedly earlier, as one of the most interesting frescoes inside has been attributed to the mid 11th century (1050). Towards the end of the 15th century, it was extended by demolishing the south wall and doubling the nave. The mullion of a small window in the oldest apse features a bas-relief of a peacock, the symbol of life. The bell tower has three rows of mullioned windows with two Leventina coats of arms surmounted by a Canton Uri coat of arms on the east side.
The interior of the oratory, with two naves and double apses supported by a solid stone column, is decorated with frescoes by artists from three different periods.
We find a fresco of the Ascension of Christ among the apostles, in Byzantine style because of the posture of the figures, the decoration of the meander and the animal figures.
The decorations on the north wall of the nave and the apse are attributed by experts to painters from Seregno (Lombardo da Giubiasco and Cristoforo da Seregno - 15th century).
