The Museo d'arte della Svizzera italiana (MASI Lugano) belongs to the small group of art museums in Switzerland that attract over 100,000 visitors per year, and since its creation has positioned itself as a cultural crossroads between the north and south of the Alps.
The venue offers a rich exhibition activity of temporary exhibitions and cyclically renewed displays of its Collection.
The imposing LAC building, designed by the architect Ivano Gianola, consists of 18,000 cubic metres extending over 29,000 square metres . From an architectural point of view, the structure is composed of two orthogonals, one of which, perpendicular to the lake, suspended on pillars, contains the museum; the other, which runs parallel to the lakeshore, houses the concert and theatre hall.
The entrance hall is impressive and very structured, with the staircase leading to the exhibition floors and the concert hall.
