Serravalle Castle

In its original form, the Serravalle Castlewas destroyed after 1176 and the second version, the one currently visible, was built around 1230-40 and definitively destroyed in 1402.

The ruins of the Serravalle castle rise on a wide rocky spur in the territory of Serravalle, at the entrance of the Blenio Valley, to the right of the Brenno River and along the historic valley road that climbs to the Lucomagno pass. The place guaranteed the castle a strong defensive and controlling position.

For some years now, a project has been underway to highlight the archaeological excavations.

External Location, open spaces between the walls and the ruins of the castle.
