This area, which can be reached with a short detour from the main road, is not a classic tourist attraction but is particularly interesting. Here stand the colossal reinforced concrete pillars supporting the A2 motorway, and in their merging with the surrounding territory, they create an impressive and vaguely post-apocalyptic scenario. Construction of the motorway started in the 1950s under the aesthetic eye of Ticino architect, Rino Tami. From here you can enjoy a pleasant view of the overdeveloped Piano di Magadino and there are interesting views of the railway line and its many tunnels.
