The SBB Control Tower of Pollegio

Designed by the architectural firm Bruno Fioretti Marquez, the Federal Railways' operations centre came into operation in 2014 to regulate the management of passenger and freight trains on the north-south axis. Symbol and visible evidence of the construction of the new Gotthard base tunnel, "il Periscopio" in Pollegio houses over a hundred employees and is spread over 6 floors, with a height of 33 metres. In the shaft are the offices, while in the upper space there are the control rooms and the technical spaces. Outdoor facility, with possibility for the interior to be visited.
