Jessica Puppo’s "Le Règne des Silures", produced by Alexis Perrin for the French company Rumble Fish Productions, has been awarded the Ticino Film Commission Residence Award, presented for the fourth time on Sunday 9 August as part of Alliance 4 Development, the co-development programme for projects from Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, organised as part of Locarno Pro at the Locarno Film Festival.
"We were struck by the project’s organic connection with the Italian-speaking Swiss landscape. Its themes — environmental challenges, and the interplay between landscape, privilege, roots and identity — resonate deeply with the reality of our region, where lakes and large hotel complexes have always defined a landscape suspended between nature, tourism and local life. We also appreciated Jessica Puppo’s distinctive cinematic voice and the ambitious blend of arthouse cinema, ecological storytelling and body horror,”" the jury’s statement reads.
The prize consists of a two-day location scouting trip (worth CHF 4,000) and a letter of intent (LOI) for financial support for the production (up to CHF 12,000) should part or all of the film be shot in Ticino
