Four days in Mendrisio and one on the Tremola. Shooting in Ticino for “Le Bambine,” the debut feature film by Italian directors Valentina and Nicole Brentani, ended on Sept. 20.
Produced by Rome-based Emma Film and Ticino-based Cinédokké supported by Lugano-based Central Productions, the film is set in the second half of the 1990s and features 8-year-old Linda, who lives with a very rich grandmother and a beautiful, dangerous and disruptive mother. An encounter with two peers, sisters Azzurra and Marta, teaches her how to become a child. The filming saw the return to Ticino of Cristina Donadio, the famous Chanel from the series "Gomorra," who was already in the cast of "Stars" by Alberto Meroni and Paolo Meneguzzi.
More than twenty professionals from Ticino worked during the filming in the region at an organizational level, set management, aids for scenography, machinists and electricians and material transport. For location preparation and location set-up, the number was closer to 40.
