Lugano and Ticino on the set of the series «Citadel: Diana»

Lugano's lakeside promenade and the LAC square as you've never seen them, the setting for adrenalin-fuelled action scenes. See it in the first teaser of «Citadel: Diana» the series just announced by Prime Video for 2024. It's the first spin-off of the global 'Citadel' franchise, the first season of which is now available in its entirety on Amazon's streaming platform, and so immerses Ticino in the 'spyverse' created by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, the spy universe where an independent international agency set up to defend global security - Citadel - and the powerful Manticore association, working in the shadows to manipulate the destinies of the planet, face off against each other.

«Citadel: Diana» stars Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing, The Law According to Lidia Poët), joined by Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz and Filippo Nigro. The series is directed by Arnaldo Cattinari and developed by Alessandro Fabbri, who also acts as head writer and is produced by Cattleya, part of ITV Studios.

Filming was completed earlier this year. Most of it took place in Italy, but Ticino's Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, where filming took place at the end of September, also has its place on the set. Filming, which was supported in our region by the Ticino Film Commission, also took place at the Gotthard and Mendrisio. Making its debut next year, «Citadel: Diana» will also introduce a piece of Ticino to the 240 countries and territories around the world where it will be broadcast exclusively by Amazon Prime Video.
