When middle-aged, estranged friends are entrusted to scatter their friend’s ashes in the mountains they met 30 years earlier; they must learn to work together again, rediscover a past they’ve turned their back on, and remember what true female solidarity, forgiveness and love is all about.

40 & CLIMBING is the story of long lost friends Marta, Sara and Isabella who are forced (dragging along Sara’s teenage daughter Matilda) to leave their every day lives behind, confront their rocky past and conquer the wild outdoors. Through the trials and physical challenges they endure, their forgotten friendship is challenged, requiring them to come clean about some home truths in order to climb their own inner mountains and realise that they are in fact... not far from the peak.
It was a true honor and pleasure to return to Ticino for the filming of 40 & CLIMBING. It was an intense shoot, not only because of the weather that changed from minute to minute, but also because the whole crew really got to experience the adventurous journey of the story and the four women at the center of the film.
